AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINAL CULTURES GALLERY

The object-rich Australian Aboriginal Cultures Gallery is a culmination of the Museum’s far-reaching engagement with Aboriginal communities across Australia and is today recognised as the official gateway into Aboriginal Australia. The Yuendumu Doors, now on permanent display in the Gallery, represent one of the earliest examples of Aboriginal artists successfully transferring their ancient ground paintings to a large-scale, modern medium. The AACG exhibits are presented over two spacious levels, adjacent the main foyer, with either one or both available for events depending on guest numbers and requirements.
