Main Hall
The jewel in Melbourne Town Hall’s crown. From the grandeur of the main staircase, enjoy the dazzling welcome of Melbourne’s finest auditorium as you step into the regal embrace of the adjoining marble foyer with its gorgeous stained glass windows. Inside, prepare to be astonished by the breathtaking majesty of the Main Hall. Soaring seventy foot ceilings are crowned with spectacular chandeliers. The magnificent 800 seat balcony sweeps around walls adorned with delicate stencilling and authentic wood-panelling.
And the centrepiece - one of the most beautiful pipe organs in the world, the largest in the southern hemisphere, Melbourne’s own original wood-carved Grand Organ. This is not an everyday event space. With a mighty stage, the Main Hall is the natural home for awe-inspiring extravaganzas, from full orchestras and choirs to multi-media product launches. Host a glittering dinner dance in an atmosphere you can only dream about. Swanston Hall
